Laser hair removal is a non-invasive procedure that uses a laser to destroy hair follicles and inhibit future hair growth. During the procedure, you may feel a warm pinprick sensation and will also feel cold air from a cooling device which is used to deter from the sensation. Laser hair removal works best on dark, coarse hair, such as black, brown, or reddish-brown hair. It's less effective on white, light blonde and strawberry blonde hair. You might experience some redness, warmth, or swelling around the hair follicles. The dermatologist will suggest that you use a cold press i.e. ice packs or a corticosteroid cream to help with swelling or redness.
